  • BAL Advance: Next Play — 2026 Application Questionnaire

  • Welcome to BAL Advance: Next Play.

    This program helps athletes turn leadership, discipline, and a competitive mindset into business results. It's open to BAL players and African basketball players competing at national team, national league, D1, or D2 level, with a business idea at any stage. Over 7 weeks, you'll work through business fundamentals, branding, financial planning, and pitching, with mentorship and access to leadership at ALX Ventures and Afreximbank. Three to four finalists will be selected in Week 4 for an exclusive in-person experience.

    It's about 4–6 hours a week, and there's no fee to apply or take part. This application takes about 30 minutes, and the deadline is August 3, 2026.
